First Quest

New To D&D?

You are exactly who this page is for. You do not need experience, books, dice, voices, acting skills, or a perfectly planned character. ENDADS starts the year with one-shot tasters so new players can learn by playing.

Your First Steps

How To Join A Game

Most new players only need three things: say hello, try a one-shot taster, and apply for a weekly campaign when player signups open.

01

Join The Society Space

Discord is the easiest place to introduce yourself, ask questions, and see what games are looking for players.

02

Look For Open Tables

September one-shot tasters come first. Weekly campaign player signups open after DMs have submitted their October to May games.

03

Bring Curiosity

You can learn rules as they come up. The important bit is joining in, asking questions, and having fun.

How Official Games Open Up

Freshers activity starts with one-shot taster sessions, then moves into weekly campaign signups for the October to May society season.

At The Table

What Happens In A First Session?

A dungeon master describes the world, you say what your character wants to do, and dice help decide what happens when the outcome is uncertain.

You Will Not Need To Know Every Rule

Most players learn by playing. If something matters, the table can explain it in the moment.

Your Character Can Be Simple

A brave fighter, curious wizard, sneaky rogue, or helpful cleric is more than enough to start.

The Table Works Together

D&D is collaborative. The aim is not to win against each other, but to create a memorable adventure.

What To Bring

Yourself

That is the main thing. You do not need to arrive as an expert.

A Way To Take Notes

Phone notes or a notebook can help you remember names, clues, and plans.

Dice If You Have Them

If you do not have dice yet, do not worry. Someone can usually lend a set.

Ready When You Are

Ask For A Beginner Table

If you are unsure where to start, ask about the one-shot tasters or beginner-friendly campaign options. That is a normal question, and people will know what you mean.

Common Worries

New Player FAQ

What if I am shy?

That is completely fine. You can start quietly, ask questions, and join in more as you get comfortable.

Do I need to do a character voice?

No. Some people enjoy voices, some do not. Saying what your character does is enough.

Can I come along before committing?

Yes. The September one-shot tasters are there so you can try the game, meet people, and see whether ENDADS feels right for you.

What if I make a mistake?

You will. Everyone does. The table can help, and mistakes often become the best stories.
